RINA is currently recruiting for a Geotechnical Junior Engineer - Offshore to join its office in Rozzano or Genoa or Rome, Italy, within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.
Mission
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate in offshore engineering, geotechnical engineering. The Junior Offshore Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to support the design, installation, and maintenance of offshore structures and systems with a focus on geotechnical aspects.
Key Accountabilities
1. Assist in conducting geotechnical investigations and site surveys for offshore projects, including soil sampling and analysis.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering solutions that address geotechnical challenges in offshore environments.
3. Assist in the design and analysis of foundation systems for offshore structures, including shallow and deep foundations.
4. Support the preparation of geotechnical reports, specifications, and documentation for project stakeholders.
5. Participate in offshore site visits and inspections to gather geotechnical data and assess soil conditions.
6. Assist in the implementation of geotechnical monitoring programs during offshore construction and operation phases.
7. Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to offshore geotechnical engineering. #LI-AC2
Education
Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering
Qualifications
8. Proficiency in geotechnical software tools such as PLAXIS, FLAC, GRLWEAP, or equivalent.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
11. Adaptability and willingness to learn new geotechnical analysis methods and techniques.
12. Prior internship or co-op experience in geotechnical engineering or offshore energy industry is a plus.
13. Knowledge of offshore safety regulations and standards is desirable.
14. Willingness travel off-shore.
