Simulation-based design engineer

PpJoining the Technology Innovation Department of the De'Longhi Group, the Simulation-Based Design Engineer will act as a key enabler for data-driven product development. You will integrate advanced modeling and simulation methodologies into the Front End Innovation and NPD (New Product Development) processes. /ppThis role goes beyond simply using tools; it requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate complex physical phenomena into robust predictive models. You will contribute to the development and application of multi-physics simulation frameworks to support design decisions, from initial concept exploration to final product validation. A fundamental mission of this role is to accelerate product development cycles and reduce reliance on physical prototyping by enabling virtual validation strategies. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliAdvanced Modeling and Simulation: Perform structural (FEA), fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermal simulations across the Group’s entire product portfolio (Coffee, Food Preparation, Home Care). /liliTest-Simulation Correlation: Collaborate with validation laboratories to correlate virtual results with experimental data, ensuring that "Virtual Twins" accurately reflect real-world performance. /liliCross-functional Collaboration: Act as a technical bridge between Technology Innovation, NPD Project Leaders, and laboratory technicians. /li /ulh3Job Profile /h3pTechnical Requirements: /pulliEducation: Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent). /liliExperience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in CAE simulation (FEA and CFD) within an RD or Product Development environment. /liliExperience in thermal fluid dynamics is highly valued. /liliSoftware Skills: Solid experience with CAE suites, preferably Ansys (Fluent/Mechanical) or Siemens Simcenter. /liliMaterial Science: In-depth knowledge of material behavior, with a specific focus on polymers and their non-linear properties. /liliTheoretical Background: Strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structural dynamics, and vibrations. /liliData Interpretation: Ability to interpret complex simulation outputs and translate them into concrete technical guidance for Project Leaders. /li /ulpSoft Skills: /pulliAbility to translate complex simulation data into actionable technical insights. /liliA "sanity check" mindset rooted in fundamental physics. /liliAn innovation-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous learning and collaborative design. /li /ulpWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, we reject and condemn any form of discrimination including discrimination based on age, gender, sexual orientation, health, race, nationality, cultural background, political opinions and religious beliefs, and membership of associations and trade unions. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
