Experteer Overview
In this role you will own and evolve the Software Factory capabilities for GCAP, delivering toolchains and digital thread enablement that support the full software lifecycle. You will work within the GCAP Technical Leadership UO to align enterprise standards, ensure end-to-end traceability, and enable rapid, secure software updates for aerospace programmes. You’ll manage delivery, governance, and supplier engagements while maintaining readiness for certification evidence and cyber‑resilient operation. This role offers the chance to shape a scalable software engineering environment across multiple partner domains in a high‑security, regulated context.

* Own delivery and continuous improvement of Software Factory products and services, including toolchains and environments
* Translate business needs into clear roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery plans
* Define reference architectures and baselines, ensuring traceability from system to software artefacts
* Coordinate stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences
* Manage upgrades, enhancements, and decommissioning across the Software Factory lifecycle
* Drive vendor engagement, technology evaluation, and PoCs to keep the factory future‑ready
* Ensure adherence to enterprise standards and regulatory, quality, and audit requirements
* Oversee delivery across internal teams and suppliers with clear ownership and handoffs
* Monitor performance, risks, and dependencies; lead incident resolution and continuous service improvement
* Define secure access models and onboarding processes for domains and parent companies
Responsabilità
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
* Service Management certification (e.g., ITIL) or equivalent experience
* Project or Programme Management certification (e.g., APM, Prince2) or demonstrable experience
* Proven competence in software engineering toolchains, DevSecOps, software lifecycle environments, xjrgpwk and digital thread enablement (min 10 years)
* Proven experience in Model Based Software Design
* Proven experience in Aerospace and/or Defence market segments (min 10 years), with understanding of DO-178C and related supplements
* Strong knowledge of Digital Engineering practices and environment provisioning
* Experience in multi‑partner and supplier integration within a Software Factory context
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong financial and resource management skills for software engineering capabilities
* Security clearance or eligibility for clearance in defence programs
