Experteer Overview In this role you lead Materials and Processes activities for gearbox components, applying titanium expertise to deliver safe, reliable aerospace designs. You will coordinate with Design, Global Research, Supply Chain and suppliers to define material solutions that meet technical and program needs. You'll industrialize titanium components, lead root-cause analyses, and steer technology roadmaps to enhance product robustness and performance.
Retribuzione / Benefits Provide technical and program leadership on titanium alloy issues for gearbox applications
Define and optimize materials and special processes for titanium components, including melting routes, forging, heat treatment, machining, surface treatments, NDT
Collaborate with Design Engineering, Global Research & Supply Chain to set material requirements and inspection criteria
Act as SME on titanium metallurgy, microstructure-property relationships, and design impact
Lead industrialization of titanium components with manufacturing engineers and suppliers
Lead or support field events and failure investigations with root-cause analyses and corrective actions
Develop and maintain material, process, and inspection specifications for titanium alloys aligned with GE Aerospace and customer needs
Assess impact of material/process quality on final product performance and drive process capability improvements
Build a global network with Engineering Material Systems experts and communicate risks/opportunities to leadership
Guide investments, technology roadmaps, and growth initiatives in the titanium domain
Challenge existing processes to meet program needs (schedule, cost, yield) while upholding safety and quality
Provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to team members to grow expertise in titanium
Support cross-functional teams to advance maturity of titanium methods (TRL/MRL)
Responsabilità Master in Material Science (or related engineering field)
Proven experience with titanium alloys in industry or R&D
Strong technical skills in Materials and Processes
Experience in a similar or complex industrial environment
Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder setting
Solid program and project management skills
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal/leadership abilities
Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken)
Proven application of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
