All about the role:
We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer for the Chemical & Soiling team to contribute to the development of new washing machines, Washer-Dryers, and Dishwashers at a global level for the Care R&D organization. This individual, proactive and innovative by nature, has an operative attitude.
What you’ll do:
You will be in charge of:
* deeper investigate the chemical aspects of washing and/or drying processes;
* define test plan based on analytic problem analysis and execute it according to related deadlines, including the proper data recording;
* To prepare test reports to document activities.
Preferably, this person has expertise in detergent chemistry and formulation, perfumes and related delivery systems, bleach and oxidation chemistry, polymers, and surfactants in the washing process.
In detail, you will:
* Prepare and execute laboratory activities related to the evaluation of washing machines, washer-dryers, and dishwasher performance with a special focus on detergent chemistry and formulation.
* Drive the evaluation and introduction of new technologies in cooperation with the relevant departments, Universities, Test Institutes and Relevant Partners.
* Understanding of standard and customized testing procedures, timelines, and deliverables related to assigned activities related to the chemical area.
* Test plan definition and setup according to the target component/system and expected results. Definition of novel test practices upon need. Data analysis, test report preparation, and release.
* Integration and coordination of inputs coming from other teams (e.g. Hydraulics, Mechanical, Software, Functional) to support appliance functionality development.
* Demonstrate creative ability; exhibits appropriate professional behaviour including positive attitude, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, creative thinking and personal integrity to achieve department/corporate goals and objectives
Who you are:
* Master’s or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Chemical Engineering (3-5 years);
* Preferred expertise in fabric detergent chemistry and formulation, perfumes and related delivery systems, bleach and oxidation chemistry, polymers, and surfactants.
* Knowledge of laboratory equipment, data acquisition systems, testing procedures, and evaluations of results.
* Knowledge of statistical methods and tools.
* Ability to work in a matrix organization, building strong and valid relationships with all the functions in the organization.
* English - Medium/Advanced with efficient communication skills, including recording and presenting test output.
* Laboratory testing plan, design and execution - Medium/Advanced with at least basic knowledge for statistical approach (DOE) on testing methodologies.
* Positive thinking, Open-minded and Proactivity.
* Communication skills, speaking, data presentation.
* Basic knowledge of REACH regulation.
* Practical problem-solving skill.
* Team oriented.
* Result driven approach.
Where you’ll be:
You will be based in Porcia, located in the metropolitan area of Pordenone (Northeast Italy), where the main Electrolux Group Care R&D centre is located. Here, in a dynamic environment, we develop and test domestic appliances such as Dishwashers, Washing Machines, Washer Dryers and Tumble Dryers.
You will work within the development team, along with different colleagues from different R&D labs and development teams.
