PpRINA is currently recruiting for a bJunior Electrical Plan Approval Engineer /b to join its office in Viareggio, Italy within the bMediterranean and Africa Marine /b Division. /p h3Mission /h3 pThis role focuses on supporting the elaboration of detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met. /p pProjects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts. /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ul liReview and approve drawings of electrical and automation systems, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security, on ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions. /li liAssist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to electrical and automation systems on ships, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security. /li liProvide support for the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements. /li liProvide support for the resolution of issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards. /li liProvide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, visit sites to take measurements. /li liProvide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data, submitting documentation to officials and other day-to-day duties. /li liPrepare the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.). /li liTake ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks. /li liUnderstand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues. /li liManage simple projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques. /li liAssess minor structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions with minimal supervision. /li liAnswer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel. /li /ul h3Education /h3 pBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul li1 year of experience in the electrical engineering field, particularly with maritime electrical systems or in a technical consultancy environment. /li liSolid understanding of electrical regulations and standards (e.g., IEC, ABS, IMO) for ships and maritime operations, including electrical system design, installation, and maintenance. /li liKnowledge of electrical plan approval processes within the maritime industry, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and international standards. /li liExperience in evaluating electrical plans and drawings for marine vessels, reviewing them for safety, compliance, and technical feasibility. /li liFamiliarity with the use of electrical simulation tools and design software to assess electrical system performance. /li liProficiency in creating detailed reports and documentation, outlining compliance status, technical findings, and recommendations for approval. /li liStrong analytical skills to identify potential electrical system issues or areas of non-compliance during technical reviews. /li liAbility to collaborate with internal teams and clients to facilitate the approval process and address technical concerns. /li liA solid understanding of electrical systems on board ships, such as generators, switchboards, propulsion systems, and battery management. /li /ul h3Competencies /h3 ul liTHINK FORWARD - Capitalise on experiences and translate them into action plans for the future /li liPROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - Promote commitment by keeping promises as a Role Model /li liPIONEER CHANGE - Actively embrace change and benefit from the new circumstances /li liMANAGE EMOTIONS - Recognise one's and other's emotions and express and regulate one's reactions /li liMAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS - Structure activities according to priorities, actions, resources and constraint /li liEARN TRUST - Take everyone's opinion into account and remain open to diversity /li liCLIENT INTIMACY - Embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements to ensure maximum satisfaction /li liBUILD NETWORK - Forge trust relationships, across departments, and outside the organization /li liADDRESS THE WAY - Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way /li /ul pRINA is a multinational company providing a wide range of services in the energy, marine, certification, infrastructure mobility, industry, research development sectors.
