Global Logistics Origin Ops is a team of highly experienced logistics professionals. Our team is responsible for field operations and managing logistics service providers (LSP, ocean carriers, origin service providers, etc.) at origin, including FBA shipment and retail shipment, effectively handling exceptions. We are seeking a highly motivated talent with strong operations and logistics experience to join us.
Key job responsibilities
As an Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing retail booking processing and logistic service provider management at origin, including:
1. Handling assigned daily tasks according to process map and SOP, managing and handling exceptions in daily work. Use knowledge and skills to meet assigned goals and SLA.
2. Setting up mechanisms to manage logistic service provider performance by optimizing existing metrics, performing root cause analysis, and owning specific actions to resolve issues.
3. Collaborating with origin LSPs/carriers to resolve issues and requests to ensure a positive selling partner experience.
4. Addressing problems with minimal risks or roadblocks, troubleshooting issues without existing procedures or SOPs, evaluating compliance risks, and escalating roadblocks as needed.
5. Working on standardization and continuous improvement (Kaizen) among carriers to enhance logistics efficiency and service quality.
6. Acting as a process expert within the team to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on process improvements.
7. Assuming additional duties as assigned by leadership as business services and operational scope expand.
8. Supporting new initiatives and programs to drive operational excellence in speed, cost, and service quality.
Minimum qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
2. 5+ years of experience in the logistics industry, focusing on ocean carriers, freight forwarding, and customer service operations, with trade lane knowledge of CN-NA/EU.
3. Strong influencing skills to effectively communicate, negotiate, and manage business partners and teams, including peers, suppliers, vendors, and clients.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret information effectively and solve problems efficiently, including reviewing alternatives for advantages and risks.
5. Self-motivated and self-directed, capable of managing multiple work streams simultaneously with precision.
6. Ability to convey urgency, drive issues to resolution, persist through obstacles, and work effectively under pressure, demonstrating customer obsession and cost awareness.
7. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred qualifications
1. Experience in ocean carrier operations or extensive trade lane knowledge of CN-NA/EU.
2. Knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma methodologies.
