About The Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will manage and execute local data science initiatives to improve productivity, including data availability enhancement, process modeling using ML tools, and digital twins. You will identify local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local teams, DD&T, Engineering, Quality and global Data Science.
How you will contribute
* Provide technical support to manufacturing processes, investigations, yield optimization, process monitoring, and support internal and/or external functional/multifunctional teams in troubleshooting and problem solving
* Identify patterns, trends and anomalies in batch data to provide insights into process variability, performance and product quality
* Support and drive Manufacturing Science department activities (e.g., yield improvement projects, process robustness initiatives, process monitoring and CPV) and site initiatives (e.g., cycle time reduction) with advanced data analysis (Machine Learning) and promote use of off‑the‑shelf data analysis software (Minitab, SIMCA, Qlik, etc.)
* Lead and support local digital data science initiatives according to prioritization (e.g., Yield Improvement, real-time monitoring, predictive process performance)
* Expand and unlock new knowledge for effective process monitoring and optimization (descriptive statistics, visualization, statistical process control, tools)
* Provide technical support to manufacturing processes, investigations, yield optimization and process monitoring with advanced data analysis
* Own and maintain Manufacturing Science/Manufacturing related datasets
* Manage investigations and support internal and/or external teams in troubleshooting and problem solving
* Translate business problems into opportunities and communicate findings with stakeholders
* Identify local data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration with local team, DD&T, Engineering, Quality and global GMS data science
* Support and participate in global/functional/local GMS data science community
* Support in maintaining the GMP archive for the group, including responsibility for document withdrawal and destruction
* Responsible for day-to-day operation of local data science function, covering all data science levels and related technologies
What you bring to Takeda
* Master or PhD in technical/scientific fields (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, pharma process engineering)
* Experience in Data Analysis (3 years) and knowledge of statistics, DMAIC, and six-sigma
* Proficiency in Python or R; SQL and data modeling knowledge
* Machine Learning, AI/Deep Learning, Big Data and Digital competencies (preferred)
* Good written and spoken Italian and English
* Knowledge of plasma fractionation process (preferred)
* Ability to translate business needs into data analytics concepts and vice versa
* Strategic enterprise thinking and understanding of industry and data science trends
* Strong communication and presentation skills
