About the Role
As an Application Engineer, the resource will support the sales and project teams by creating technical solutions tailored for the tobacco industry. This role makes sure that customer needs are turned into practical and cost-effective designs that follow company standards. The main tasks include ensuring the technical accuracy of key offers in the Tobacco Division and supporting local offices with technical and commercial guidance.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Provide technical support to the Sales team, including feasibility analysis based on customer requirements;
2. Prepare and generate commercial offers, including layout drawings, technical documentation, and cost calculations;
3. Conduct technical training for subsidiaries and local teams to ensure a consistent understanding of solutions and standards;
4. Participate in customer meetings to support the sales process and clarify technical aspects of the proposed solutions.
5. Maintain and update price lists and cost databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date offer generation;
6. Analyze the existing solution portfolio, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement or standardization;
7. Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Product Management to develop or adapt solutions in line with market and customer needs;
8. Support project execution by aligning with design and production teams during handover phases.
What you need to be successful
9. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related technical field);
10. Solid technical foundation combined with a commercial mindset, ideally developed through experience in project-based industrial environments;
11. Basic understanding of general principles of industrial processes and automation, with a focus on integrated production lines and packaging equipment;
12. Proficient in 2D CAD software, particularly AutoCAD;
13. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities;
14. Excellent organizational and time management skills;
15. Proficient in Microsoft Office (in particular Excel). Previous experience with an IoT platform enabling smart maintenance would be considered a plus.
