Position Description: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Supervisor Maintenance is responsible for providing leadership for the maintenance functions, ensuring proper preventive maintenance of the physical plant and all operating equipment, electrical troubleshooting, minimizing equipment downtime to provide maximum production capacity, and compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Essential Job Functions
PPE requirements.
Adhere to and ensure compliance with food quality and food safety standards such as SQF.
Lead and direct the work of other employees.
Have authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
Continuously improve manufacturing processes in terms of quality and performance, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks.
Ensure reliability of plant and equipment operation while optimizing maintenance and operation costs and satisfying safety, environmental, and other regulations.
Identify and solve safety concerns during design and operation of manufacturing processes.
Devise hands‑on improvement processes to reduce scrap and defects while improving throughput; document SOPs and implement best practices.
Assist in installing new equipment to maximize production efficiency and maintainability.
Work with production to modify equipment and work areas for maximum efficiency.
Maintain a knowledge base of existing utilities and utilization levels.
Stay abreast of the latest safety, environmental, and other regulations affecting the facility.
Support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing equipment and facility maintenance to ensure maximum asset utilization.
Implement and ensure compliance with systems designed by the manager, focusing on execution and direct oversight.
Assist in keeping written documentation of environmental compliance current.
Periodically prepare reports to satisfy environmental and safety regulations and ensure a safe work environment.
Review, evaluate, counsel, discipline, and discharge employees as necessary to meet productivity requirements.
Recommend improvements to product manufacturability.
Ensure compliance with OHSA, environmental, and corporate standards; investigate root causes of non‑compliance.
Accountable for a safe working environment through accident reduction and energy and waste minimization strategies.
Oversee effective human resources deployment throughout the plant and administer collective bargaining agreements (if applicable).
Requirements
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.
5–7 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing facility.
Required Skills
Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint.
Proven leadership experience in a production environment.
Strong team player capable of working across multiple functions.
Ability to analyze and solve problems, results‑oriented.
Capable of working under deadline pressures.
Organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to change.
