You will be accountable for defining and executing global commodity strategies, managing critical supplier relationships, and delivering cost, performance, and supply continuity improvements across the network.The specific commodity or sector background is not critical. Success in this role depends on proven experience managing direct procurement commodities in manufacturing, navigating complex stakeholder environments, and driving alignment between global strategy and local execution. Key Responsibilities
Define and execute global commodity strategies for direct materials and production-related componentsLead end-to-end sourcing activities including market analysis, RFx, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance managementOwn relationships with strategic and critical global suppliers, ensuring quality, cost competitiveness, and continuity of supplyDrive cost reduction and value creation initiatives using should-cost, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership approachesPartner closely with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams on demand planning, design changes, and product lifecycle managementLead supplier consolidation, dual-sourcing, and risk mitigation strategiesEstablish and manage global framework agreements, preferred supplier lists, KPIs, and SLAsMonitor supplier performance and lead corrective action plans where requiredSupport and guide regional and site procurement teams while retaining global commodity ownershipEnsure sourcing strategies align with sustainability, compliance, and ethical sourcing standardsContribute to budget planning, forecasting, and long-term commodity roadmaps About You10 years' procurement experience, with a strong focus on direct materials procurement in manufacturingProven experience in a Global Commodity Manager or senior Category Manager roleExperience managing complex direct material commodities (components, assemblies, raw materials, or similar)Track record of operating effectively in multinational, matrix organisationsStrong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skillsConfident influencing senior stakeholders across technical and operational functionsStructured, data-driven, and pragmatic approach What We Offer€80,000 to €90,000 + BenefitsA senior, visible role within a global manufacturing organisationOpportunity to shape and mature global direct procurement strategiesInternational exposure and collaborationTravel reimbursement and wellbeing benefits
