OverviewAmazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) for our Milan-area data centers.
This role leads physical security operations across multiple sites, reporting directly to the Cluster Security Manager.
Key aspects of the role include:
Managing day-to-day physical security operations
Maintaining site security posture
Overseeing security guard force vendors
Ensuring compliance with AWS security standards
We maintain the foundation of AWS cloud services, ensuring continuous availability of computing resources for our customers worldwide.

Key job responsibilitiesSecurity Operations ManagementManage on-site physical security operations for Data Centers
Oversee access control systems, guard force operations, and vendor contracts
Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and incident reporting
Generate and analyze security metrics
Implement and maintain CCTV monitoring systems and media security protocols
Ensure protection of customer data through robust security measures
Process and Policy ManagementImplement new security processes while maintaining compliance with Amazon policies
Develop and execute security plans for special events
Create evacuation procedures and emergency response protocols
Establish benchmarks for security performance
Design customized policies to meet internal and external regulations
Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain partnerships with internal teams (DC Engineering, DC Operations)
Coordinate with external partners (Vendors, Emergency Services)
Supervise security contractors and monitor their performance
Collaborate with global security teams
Project ManagementDeliver security projects within specified timelines and budgets
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders
Identify and address safety and security deficiencies
Conduct data analysis to support risk assessments
Travel to other geographic regions as required
Basic qualificationsLegal & Investigative ExpertiseComprehensive knowledge of investigative laws and practices
Experience conducting security investigations
Understanding of workplace safety regulations and compliance
Technical ExpertiseAdvanced knowledge of security technology, including:
Access control systems
CCTV operations
Identification systems
Special security applications
Professional CertificationsRelevant security industry certifications
Additional safety or security credentials
Management ExperienceProven vendor management experience
Demonstrated decision-making abilities in complex situations
Technical SkillsProficiency with data gathering and analysis tools
Ability to quickly adapt to new company systems
Language & Communication
Preferred qualificationsCorporate/DC security experience with a global company
Experience writing and publishing security standards
Technical KnowledgeStrong working knowledge of physical security systems and components
