Tasks and Qualifications:
Main Job Objectives
6. Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
7. To produce PLC software and/or visualization systems.
8. To emulate and test PLC software.
9. To interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
10. To lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation.
11. To lead controls engineering design teams.
12. Provide technical guidance.
13. Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive
14. To produce of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
15. To commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user
16. To assist in the development of the global Dematic controls standard.

Qualifications & Experience:
23. HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering as a minimum
24. Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
25. Experience in a similar role
26. Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment
27. Advanced understanding of PLC development tools
28. Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings
29. Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standards
30. Good understanding of distributed control systems
31. Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation
32. Previous use of CAD tools
33. Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential

35. Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering

41. Fully conversant with Siemens TIA Portal PLC and HMI software design and implementation,

44. Fully conversant with Industrial Networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar
45. To be conversant with E-plan – desirable not essential
46. Fully conversant with commissioning procedures, setting up devices such as barcode scanners, and sensors.
47. Understand and use relevant design requirements such as the Machinery Directive and its harmonised standards including safety standards
Special Conditions:
48. Role will require 60% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
