Overview Avionics Engineer - IVVQ role at Thales Alenia Space. Joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%). We are looking for an Avionics Engineer - IVVQ to manage the phases of avionics testing (Integration, Verification and Validation/Qualification) for Satellite Avionics, including data handling, attitude and orbit control, and failure detection, isolation and recovery. The role includes developing simulation models for Satellite Real Time Environment (RTE) in C/C++ compliant with ESA ECSS SMP standard, and preparing final test reports and documentation. Responsibilities Real/No-Real Time test environment for Hardware In the Loop (HIL) Testing Real Time Environment (RTE) simulation modeling based on C/C++ compliant to ECSS SMP standard Matlab/Simulink programming Support to hardware units specification and technical management of related procurement Study and understand AOCS/DHC design to develop verification and testing approaches Develop and write test sequences for AOCS, DHC, FDIR aspects Avionics V&V activity at Avionic Test Bench (ATB) level Develop Dynamics Simulation Software (DSS) for ATB and execute functional tests on AVS units Define AVS special verification facilities requirements specification and procurement monitoring (e.g., STT EGSE and GNSS EGSE) Qualifications and Skills Education and experience You have a Master Degree in Electrical/Computer/Control Engineering with focus on programming, Hardware In the Loop Testing and Control Systems Engineering. Fluent in English (C1 or higher). 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is preferable. Skills and knowledge Knowledge of kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies Avionic sensors and actuators technology Knowledge of real/no-real time test environment (HIL) SW or hybrid (HW/SW) simulators Experience with AIM 1553 boards and KVASER CAN bus or similar Matlab/Simulink programming, C/C++ programming ECSS/ESA technical standards familiarity (multiple items listed below are a plus): ECSS-E-ST-50-12C (SpaceWire); ECSS-E-ST-50-52C; PSS_04_151; ECSS-E-ST-50-03C; ECSS-E-ST-50-04C; ECSS-E-ST-50-13C; ECSS-E-ST-50-14C Knowledge of Data Handling Hardware (On Board Computer, RTU, GNSS), 1553, SpaceWire, CAN CCSDS/ECSS telemetry and telecommand standards, PUS Understanding avionic requirements of satellites; experience with EGSE and spacecraft simulators is a plus Laboratory instrumentation familiarity (oscilloscope, multimeter, protocol analyzer) Ability to work independently and in international teams; capable of handling workload pressure Knowledge of quality processes and configuration/V&V tools (e.g., DOORS, GIT) Personal qualities Customer-focused, proactive, organized and methodical with strong communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, work autonomously and in a team General information The position is permanent.
