Leonardo is a seeking a talentedSystems Engineer to join our team in delivering essential services for a prestigious organization. The System Engineer will operate in the context of Defence with the with frequent co-location at the Customer's premises. Availability to travel and/or relocate in Brussels is therefore compulsory. The person:
1. Will be responsible for participating in the analysis of test data, development of architecture products, and development of system requirements with minimal supervision.
2. As part of the test activities, may participate in all phases of a planned BMD programme operational test. This may include involvement in collaborative test planning, integration, test execution, test result analysis, and final test reporting.
3. Supporting efforts may include maintaining project schedules, working with systems engineering tools, and interfacing with customers and stakeholders.
4. Participate in engineering activities of increasing scope and complexity. The scope and timing of such efforts will be determined by the lead engineer.
5. The above activities involve generation of documentation in UK English, as well as being involved and communicating programme office personnel, stakeholders, and National Representatives in conferences and meetings. In addition, there is a strong likelihood that eventually the individual will be working with and supporting military staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering/Technical discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education; or master’s or PhD degree in lieu of experience.
Experience and Seniority
6. Junior/Expert. At least 5 years of experience in the role (Systems Engineering and Integration or equivalent role)
7. Previous experience in Defence projects will be considered strongly preferred.
Technical Competences
8. Knowledge of Systems Engineering discipline, supported by hands-on experience on projects, preferably within the Defense domain (certifications such as INCOSE® are considered a plus).
9. Experience in architecture development (NAF would be a strong preference), requirements and specification development, use of systems engineering architecting and requirements management tools, testing, knowledge of the missile defense domain, and working in an international environment is desired.
Languages
10. Working proficiency in English is essential.
11. Working proficiency in Italian will constitute a strong preference.
Computer skills
12. Literate in MS Office Suite;
13. Working knowledge of DOORS, Rhapsody, Archimate or equivalent tools.
Behavioral skills
14. Ability to understand requirements and define solutions to maximize compliance while minimizing costs.
15. Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within an engineering team, mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work.
16. Ability to interface with customers’ technical representative and to effectively present solutions.

18. Availability to relocate in Belgium and to travel, long or short term.
