Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies. The Construction Safety Coordinator will assist in the construction safety services support for the Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) located at Sigonella, Italy. On-site work will be performed primarily at the Public Works Department, Sigonella, Italy. This is a 1-year project contingent to the award of the contract. Key responsibilities: - The services provided will serve to control and verify the construction contractor compliances with Italian Decreto legislativo nr. 81/08, and any other applicable Italian safety norms - Able to verify conflict between EM-385-1-1 and the Italian Decreto legislativo - Provide safety surveillance or construction safety coordinator services for construction contracts - Verify and update the “Piano di Sicurezza e Coordinamento” (PSC) and “Fascicolo dell’opera”, both provided by Coordinatore della Sicurezza during the design phase in accordance with Articles 91 and 100 of Decreto legislativo nr. 81/08 - Verify the suitability of the Operational Safety Plan (POS), ensuring its consistency with the project safety and coordination plan (PSC) and Fascicolo dell’opera - Attend pre-performance conference and any coordination meetings with the construction contractor and representatives of the US Government - Provide weekly and monthly project status reports in English detailing safety problems citing appropriate Italian, contract, and U.S. references. - Perform periodic site inspections, and inspect and verify all machinery and equipment before of their use on the site - Attend Preparatory and Initial Inspection meetings on all new high risk work activities, and as many others as possible, to confirm that AHA’s are prepared, approved, and discussed prior to that work activity beginning. - Provide regularly scheduled briefings to the Construction Manager, outlining the status of safety on site, and other program safety issues as requested. - Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications to be successful in the role: - Must be Fluent in English and Italian - Completion of all training and education required by LD 81/08 to perform duties as a Construction Safety Coordinator - Must have the Italian Responsabile dei Servizi di Prevenzione e Protectzione dei Lavoritori (RSPP) Certification: - Completion of the Italian Exceptional Technical Course for Inspectors Specialized in Safety on Construction Sites (Corso di Eccellenza Tecnico Speciallizato della Sicurezza in Cantiere) Why Planate?
