The project : Terra Innovatum's mission is to make nuclear power accessible. What you will be working on As a Civil Engineer and Layout Architect at Terra Innovatum, your responsibilities include: Designing, analyzing, and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of nuclear power plants, research facilities, and related infrastructure. Ensuring compliance with regulatory codes, performing structural assessments, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams for plant construction, maintenance, and upgrades. Potential next steps With rapid growth and international expansion planned for 2026, the right candidate may take on regional or global responsibilities. Responsibilities include: Designing and analyzing structural components such as containment buildings, cooling towers, and support structures. Ensuring compliance with NRC, ASME BPVC, ACI standards, and other industry regulations. Performing load calculations, seismic analysis, and stress assessments. Overseeing construction projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Conducting inspections, failure analyses, and maintenance assessments. Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems engineers. Assisting with licensing and regulatory documentation. Supporting plant modifications, retrofits, and decommissioning projects. Using civil engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS) for modeling and analysis. Providing technical guidance to project teams and contractors. Ideal candidate profile: Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field. 3-7 years of experience in civil or structural engineering, preferably in nuclear or industrial projects. Preferred certifications: PE or SE license. Strong knowledge of structural analysis, reinforced concrete, and steel design. Proficiency in civil engineering software (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, AutoCAD). Understanding of seismic analysis, radiation shielding, and nuclear materials. Experience with NRC requirements and nuclear safety principles. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. High attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Fluency in English; Italian language skills are a plus.
