Position Title: Land Manager Italy, BD, EMEA, RE
Department: Project Origination EMEA, BD, RE
Reporting to: Head of Origination Italy, EMEA, RE
Duties And Responsibilities
* Originating, identifying, evaluating land opportunities for new solar and BESS projects
* Engage with landowners and land brokers, be the main contact person in charge to discuss and negotiate preliminary land rights agreements in line with industry and corporate standards, ensuring all contracts are clear, comprehensive, and favorable for project execution
* Establish and nurture a robust network of property owners, municipal leaders, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders to facilitate project development and gain community support
* Collaborate with GIS Engineers to produce site reviews and conduct feasibility and risk assessments, ensuring all the required documentation is updated and stored in data rooms
* Work closely with legal team and other members of the origination to make sure land negotiations are timely executed. Proactively engage with all the stakeholders involved
* Present project proposals at information sessions, landowner meetings, and local council gatherings to communicate project benefits and progress effectively to stakeholders.
* Contribute to defining and executing the land acquisition strategy for targeted regions.
* Monitor and report on KPIs such as hectares secured, option agreements signed, and projects land pipeline quality.
Knowledge
* Good understanding of the solar & BESS projects and Italy renewables sector.
* Familiarity with permitting, land registry research, and environmental or urban planning constraints.
* Working knowledge of grid connection processes and associated spatial planning considerations.
Qualifications
* Degree in geographical, technical or economic degree
Experience
* Demonstrated expertise and experience in "greenfield" project development in Italy, including regulatory compliance, grid connection processes, and land contract negotiation/management.
* Use of Qgis and Arcgis software for land researching and constraints, consultation and use of PV Design for preliminary layouts is a plus
* Proficiency with land contracts and legal documentation (option-to-lease, surface rights, etc.).
* Confident and convincing appearance when dealing with people
* At least two years of experience in renewable energy project development, particularly in solar and BESS.
* Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
* Knowledge of Qgis, Autocad, PVSyst, Google Earth.
* Experience with the technical and economic management of projects
* Willingness to travel for regular external appointments within Italy
* Open mind, self-starter quick in learning and ability to interact with all levels of the organization capturing their needs and expectations
* Ability to manage multiple projects across different regions simultaneously.
* Willingness to travel frequently within Italy, especially northern and central Italy
