Role Summary The ICSS Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, integration, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Integrated Control & Safety Systems (ICSS), including DCS, ESD, Fire & Gas, PLC, and related OT systems. The role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operation of process control and safety systems in line with international standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, review, and implement
ICSS architectures
covering DCS, ESD, F&G;, PLC, and HMI systems. Review and approve
ICSS design documentation, including control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, logic narratives, specifications, and system architectures. Ensure compliance with international standards such as
IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 (Functional Safety), IEC 62682 (Alarm Management), IEC 62443 (Cybersecurity), and applicable client standards. Execute
alarm management activities, including alarm philosophy development, alarm rationalization, suppression strategies, and KPI monitoring. Support and witness
FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up, and handover
activities for ICSS packages. Provide technical expertise for
troubleshooting, optimization, and system performance improvement
across control and safety systems. Coordinate with vendors and EPC teams for
technical submittals, interface management, and system integration. Participate in
Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), scope definition, and vendor clarification processes. Ensure proper
documentation control, including red-line markups, as-built drawings, and final handover dossiers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Process, Instrumentation, Electrical, IT/OT, Cybersecurity) to ensure seamless system integration. Maintain strong
HSE compliance, ensuring all ICSS activities adhere to project safety rules and regulatory requirements. Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Control, or Automation Engineering Proven experience as an
ICSS / Control Systems Engineer
in oil & gas or industrial projects Strong understanding of international codes, standards, and best practices Experience working with EPC contractors, licensors, and multinational project teams
