RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Hull Plan Approval Engineer to join its office in Trieste, Italy within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.
The Junior Hull Plan Approval Engineer supports the development and review of detailed vessel plans, helping to identify and resolve issues related to design requirements while ensuring compliance with client specifications, classification rules, and international standards. Contributes to approval activities for newbuilds, conversions, and existing vessels, including commercial ships and yachts. #LI-MC1
Assist in reviewing drawings and technical documentation related to fire protection systems, life‑saving appliances, safety arrangements, and emergency systems.
Support the verification of compliance with Classification Society Rules, statutory regulations, and international conventions (SOLAS, ISM, IMO, MARPOL).
Provide basic technical support to clients during vessel design and construction phases on safety, fire protection, and lifesaving equipment matters.
Help identify minor non‑conformities or inconsistencies in safety plans and arrangements.
Assist in implementing and verifying approved safety solutions onboard.
Collect relevant technical data for safety plan approval activities.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, safety assessments, and engineering drawings.
Support documentation submission to authorities and classification bodies.
Support tracking of technical and financial progress for assigned tasks.
Apply basic project management principles to manage simple activities.
Provide updates to the Project Manager and help escalate issues when necessary.
Participate in supervised site visits, inspections, and measurements.
Support on‑site safety verifications and contribute to reporting findings.
Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering
