Role Overview
The role aims to be recognized as trusted advisors in the hotel/hotels sector. It supports the finance lead in attracting and retaining top finance professionals, developing their team, and enabling them to thrive. The role ensures effective communication, maintains a robust control and compliance environment, and supports the EMEA finance management company's value proposition, which is appealing to current and prospective owners. It collaborates within the hotel/hotels to maximize profits for shareholders and owners, and implements EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects to deliver an industry-leading, efficient finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in activities including understanding and driving financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and managing month-end closing activities. It involves coordinating and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, the Uniform System of Accounts, and Hilton policies. The role ensures smooth hotel finance operations in compliance with all policies and regulations. It partners with hotel finance teams and management, and supports the development of strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as Commercial, IT, Procurement, Operations, Shared Service Centers, Owners, Asset Managers, and Regional Finance teams. In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director will assume departmental responsibilities. The role also involves developing high-performing hotel finance teams through participation in relevant development programs.
Candidate Profile
* Strong knowledge of Italian tax and fiscal laws
* Ability to analyze large volumes of complex financial data and create reports, forecasts, and projections
* Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive issue prevention
* Leadership skills to develop team problem-solving capabilities
* Initiative in prioritizing and executing responsibilities
* Staff management and development skills
* Detail-oriented and organized
* Strong presentation skills for diverse audiences
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all management levels and with external clients
* Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook; quick learner of new programs
Preferred Qualifications
University degree in Accounting or Finance
