The Opportunity
We are seeking an Italian-speaking Data Scientist with a passion for Conversational AI to join a growing digital innovation team. This role will focus on the design, optimisation and analysis of chatbot and voicebot solutions, leveraging both traditional NLU approaches and modern LLM/RAG architectures.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level professional looking to gain hands-on experience within a large-scale enterprise environment while contributing to impactful AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and optimise chatbot and voicebot solutions using both NLU and LLM/RAG architectures.
Create, test and refine prompts to improve conversational performance and user outcomes.
Apply Conversation Design, UX and copywriting best practices to deliver intuitive and engaging customer interactions.
Configure and maintain conversational solutions using low-code development platforms.
Analyse conversational datasets to identify trends, performance indicators and optimisation opportunities.
Define, monitor and report on key conversational KPIs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights and recommendations.
Maintain and manage tracking files, reporting documentation and conversational performance records.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business teams, developers and product owners.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience designing and implementing chatbots and voicebots using both NLU-based and LLM/RAG-based architectures.
Advanced proficiency in Prompt Engineering, including prompt creation, testing and optimisation.
Strong understanding of Conversation Design principles, UX design methodologies and conversational copywriting.
Experience working with low-code chatbot and voicebot platforms, including:
Google Dialogflow (ES and CX)
Microsoft Copilot Studio (formerly Power Virtual Agent)
Ability to analyse conversational data and extract actionable KPIs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Excel and CSV-based tracking and reporting processes.
Fluent Italian language skills (spoken and written).
Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable Skills
Exposure to Generative AI projects within enterprise environments.
Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks and implementations.
Experience working within customer service, utilities, energy or digital transformation programmes.
Familiarity with conversational analytics and reporting tools.
