PpNorthstrat is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Logistics and Material Management Specialist for our production contract producing and maintaining space electronic warfare systems. This role supports the Logistics Manager in management/tracking of inventory, government property, and logistics coordination utilizing public and private transportation mechanisms for both domestic and international shipping. This individual will support production, sustainment of operations, and maintaining of systems. /ppAs a Senior Logistics and Material Management Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments, receipt of materials, managing inventory, component replacement, audit and inspections of existing inventory, component failure metric tracking and coordination of supplying resources to fielding teams for system maintenance and repair. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery, optimize inventory levels, and contribute to the overall success of the production process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, apply analytical thinking, and can thrive in a fast‑paced environment. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliAssist the logistics manager with procurement, shipping and receiving, inventory management, RMAs, and addressing production and operational needs. /liliManage purchase orders, product orders, and property records using an enterprise logistics management tool in coordination with other members of the supply chain team. /liliManage good receipt, inspection, storing, and staging processes to ensure smooth handling of materials from arrival through production and to delivery. /liliMaintain accurate government property records, documentation, detailed reports of usages and failures, and ITAR compliance. /liliManage and update inventory management records, including detailed unique IDs and government property IDs, to ensure accurate tracking and accountability. /liliCollaborate with production, deployment, and maintenance teams to ensure proper supplies are ready for site installations, as well as replacement parts and spares. /liliCoordinate domestic and international shipment, including scheduling, tracking, and maintaining documentation. /liliEnsure compliance with all relevant transportation and global trade regulations and company policies for both domestic and international shipments including ITAR. /liliManage shipping documentation such as DD1149, DD1348, Bill of Lading, packing lists, receiving and shipping forms, hazardous material handling, and proof of delivery. /liliCommunicate with suppliers, customers, shipping companies, and freight carriers. /liliProcess Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) materials. /liliIdentify and resolve problems with received materials in coordination with quality assurance and production teams as needed. /liliResolve logistics issues such as shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies in a timely manner. /liliInspect incoming and outgoing products for quality assurance/quality control and adherence to specifications. /liliVerify completed systems are properly packed, marked, and ready for shipment. /liliEnsure timely and accurate deliveries to meet customer expectations. /liliEffectively manage time to support aggressive delivery need dates. /liliCollaborate with logistics and production team members to improve efficiency and productivity. /liliMaintain a clean and organized work environment. /liliFollow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. /liliAnalyze logistics data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. /li /ulh3Qualifications and Experience /h3ulliMust have a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR 12+ years of equivalent experience without a degree. /liliFamiliarity with logistics and production operations including asset management of government property. /liliStrong knowledge of shipping procedures, warehouse operations, and inventory management. /liliFamiliarity with local and international shipping regulations, import/export laws, domestic transportation regulations, and hazardous material handling. /liliAbility/willingness to operate forklift and pallet jacks. /liliStrong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and suppliers. /liliAbility to work effectively with cross‑functional teams like procurement, production, and operations. /liliKnowledge of storage methods, material handling, and safety compliance. /liliPhysically able to conduct the actions necessary to perform logistics activities including lifting, racking and stacking equipment. /liliEffective communication to coordinate with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders. /liliStrong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery. /liliAttention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work. /liliAbility to troubleshoot logistical challenges and develop efficient solutions. /liliAbility to make data‑driven decisions under pressure. /liliUnderstanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, transportation, and distribution, and awareness of supplies to anticipate when parts are end of life to alert/work with engineering to determine suitable replacements and/or re‑design options. /liliAbility to work effectively under time constraints. /liliWillingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends if necessary. /liliAbility to adjust to unexpected changes, like supply disruptions or demand fluctuations. /liliProficiency in logistics software (A2B, Jira, Confluence) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint). /li /ulh3Desired Skills/Experience /h3ulliCertifications: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Logistics Associate (CLA). /liliTechnical certification or training in a related field. /liliExperience in global shipping management/customs clearance. /liliExperience evaluating and dealing with OCONUS storage options. /liliKnowledge of inventory control systems, methods like FIFO/LIFO, and stock optimization. /liliAbility to analyze data to forecast inventory needs, optimize routes, or reduce costs. /li /ulh3Pay Range /h3pThere are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month. For example: John worked 12 hours on June 1 to meet a project deadline. On June 15, John only worked 4 hours because he left early for a long weekend. John’s IBA was not debited for time off because flex time allowed him to carry over those 4 hours from June 1. /ph3Individual Benefits Account (IBA) /h3pThe IBA is a unique benefits package that places the power of choice in the hands of our employees.
