Together, we can solve the world’s toughest hiring problems. /p pIntelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA) is looking for an economist with expertise in applying causal inference, experimental design, and/or causal machine‑learning techniques to topics in labor or related applied economics. They will collaborate with business partners to define and deliver economic thinking that guides strategic decisions. They will work closely with data scientists, research scientists, and engineers to estimate and validate their models on large‐scale data, and will help business partners turn the results of their analysis into business actions that have a major impact. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 pThe Economist will work with teammates (Data Scientists, Research Scientists (Industrial‑Organizational Psychologists), Business Intelligence Engineers) to apply economic methods to business problems. This might include identifying the appropriate research questions, writing code to implement a Difference‑in‑Differences (DiD) analysis, estimating a structural model, building a statistical / regression model, or writing and presenting a document with findings to business leaders. Our economists also collaborate with partner teams throughout the process, from understanding their challenges, to developing a research agenda that will address those challenges, to helping them implement solutions. /p h3A day in the life /h3 pThe Economist will work with teammates to apply economic methods to business problems. This might include identifying the appropriate research questions, writing code to implement the model, or writing and presenting a document with findings to business leaders. The economist will also conduct code and paper reviews, engage in science panel reviews and attend meetings to scope the work and/or present results. The economists will also manage and update their work through regular ASANA project updates. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liPhD in economics or equivalent /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul li2+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience /li liKnowledge of at least one statistical software package such as R, Stata, Matlab, SAS /li liExperience in applied macroeconomics, time series and macroeconometrics, economic theory, and quantitative methods /li liExperience in data mining (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) and using databases in a business environment with large‑scale, complex datasets /li /ul h3Compensation and Benefits /h3 pThe base salary range for this position is listed below. The base salary ranges are: • USA, TX, Irving – $136,000.00 – $184,000.00 USD annually • USA, VA, Arlington – $136,000.00 – $184,000.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
