Role
We are looking for a motivated Scientist in Plant Microbiology to join our Biologicals Research team in Atessa, Italy, on a temporary contract until December 2026.\n
You will execute experimental work supporting our Biostimulant Microbial Technologies programme, contributing to the generation of reliable, high-quality data through accurate experimentation and rigorous documentation, in full compliance with HSE and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments on plant-microorganism interactions, microbial colonisation and compatibility assays, following established protocols and SOPs
- Apply aseptic techniques and manage in vitro plant culture systems
- Use microscopy techniques for detection and localisation of microorganisms in plant tissues
- Collect, document and perform basic analysis of experimental data
- Communicate results clearly within the team and to relevant stakeholders
- Comply fully with Syngenta HSE and biosafety standards
What We're Looking For
- BSc/MSc in Plant Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related discipline
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience (academic or industrial)
- Hands-on experience with plant-microorganism assays and microscopy techniques
- Good communication skills in English (Italian is a plus)
- Reliable, collaborative, self-motivated and eager to learn
