This is a jointly funded post with the APCC, recognising the importance attached to this role. The post will be located within the Police Liaison Unit (PLU), reporting to the Head of Unit with a formal link to the APCC’s Director of Strategy. The PLU works on behalf of Policing in Wales, representing both Chief Constables and Commissioners, in their interaction with all areas of Welsh Government. For the first time, this exciting role is being advertised as a permanent position, recognising the importance of recognising how Welsh Commissioners work in an often complex devolved policy landscape. The post holder will directly support Commissioners by ensuring that this unique Welsh context and the relationship between devolved and non-devolved partners is fully understood by the APCC and other partners, especially across the local government community. The role is dynamic and varied and there may be occasions when you will be required to attend meetings across Wales, as well as occasional travel to London for APCC meetings. For the most part, the role will be undertaken remotely and IT equipment will be made available to support this. Given the nature of the work undertaken, the post demands the highest standards of confidentiality and professional behaviour. If you’re passionate about effective police governance, partnership working and public service, and have experience of or an interest in working in a fast-paced policy environment with senior politicians and officials, we would be delighted to hear from you.
