We’re looking for a dynamic Head of Mechatronics to lead our Mechatronics department in our site in Val della Torre, Turin, Italy.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of product development projects—from concept to industrialization—with a strong focus on timely delivery, quality, and innovation. You'll guide a set of multidisciplinary teams, ensure cross-departmental alignment, and contribute to our long-term competitiveness in lab automation and medical device markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Leadership
* Oversee mechatronics projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery, quality execution, and adherence to budget. Plan each phase thoroughly and allocate resources efficiently.
* Team Management
* Lead and motivate the mechatronics teams. Distribute tasks strategically to maximize efficiency and foster a high-performance, innovation-driven culture.
* Process Improvement
* Introduce agile methods and streamline development and industrialization processes to reduce time-to-market and costs.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with Product Managers and the Head of Software Development to ensure product alignment with market needs and company priorities.
* Budget Oversight
* Manage the department’s budget, ensuring financial resources are well allocated across projects and aligned with company goals.
* Innovation and Technology Integration
* Keep up with trends in robotics, AI, machine learning, and automation. Lead the integration of these technologies into new products and champion a culture of continuous innovation.
* Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure all products meet relevant local and international regulations, with a strong focus on safety and quality standards in medical and lab environments.
* Outsourcing Strategy
* Identify and manage external partners, maintaining control over quality, technology, and delivery while boosting team capabilities.
* Talent Acquisition and People Development
* Actively scout for top technical talent through universities, schools, and professional networks to build and maintain a competitive team. Work closely with HR department in order to develop resources.
* Customer-Centric Development
* Collaborate with Product and Sales teams to integrate customer needs into product development, ensuring user satisfaction and continuous quality improvements.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
Technical Skills
* Strong foundation in mechatronics, including mechanical, electronic, and embedded systems.
* Solid experience in project management, including cost, timeline, and risk control.
* Familiarity with testing methodologies for complex systems.
* Knowledge of firmware and software development, with the ability to supervise (but not necessarily write) embedded code.
* Proven track record in applying advanced technologies (robotics, AI, ML) to real-world products.
