Role & Responsibilities
Ensure the Commissioning Agent (CxA) and commissioning team comply with the project safety program, contractor onsite safety plans, HSE assurance requirements, and applicable local and industry safety standards for critical data center environments.Ensure adherence to the project's Commissioning Plan of Record (CxPoR) and all documents incorporated by reference.Drive the project commissioning process, including scope, schedule, and quality assurance to maintain best-practice commissioning practices.Develop, review and approve commissioning procedures, standards, and test scripts in collaboration with project stakeholders and design/contractor teams.Conduct construction site inspections and review QA/QC and commissioning-related activities.Manage the commissioning process through developing and coordinating commissioning scripts, scheduling, execution, witnessing, and documenting tests and results via the CxA and commissioning team.Coordinate the CxA to develop and execute the commissioning plan; observe and document system performance and verify compliance with the Basis of Design and contract documents (specifications, drawings, sequences of operation).Use the project's electronic commissioning management platform or agreed tracking tools for development, approval, execution of test scripts, and issue tracking; ensure vendors and contractors use the tools appropriately.Maintain and manage the Issue Resolution Log (IRL) — identify, inspect, track, and drive issues to completion.Manage commissioning aspects of turnover to Operations, ensuring punch lists, deficiencies, and open items are closed in a timely manner.Regularly review construction progress, QA/QC, commissioning progress, issues, and KPI metrics and report to project management.Report on commissioning progress, schedule, and budget as project phases require (daily/weekly/monthly cadence as needed).Attend and support critical commissioning tests at multiple levels (component, system, integrated, and performance) and report on schedule, risks, and delays.Coordinate and chair commissioning meetings; integrate lessons learned, publish meeting minutes, and coordinate vendor project managers and contractors.Represent commissioning at owner/architect/contractor (OAC) and other project meetings as required.Travel as required for vendor factory witness testing and other commissioning-related site visits.
Minimum Experience and Education
Minimum 10 years' experience in data center facility maintenance, operation, and/or commissioning.Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently in support of a data center commissioning program.Familiarity with electrical and mechanical test equipment.Proven ability to develop and write detailed commissioning/test scripts and procedures.Experience with construction QA/QC processes.Strong issue identification and resolution management skills.English Language skills - Strong verbal and written communication. Italian is a plus.
