RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Food Product Developer to join its office in Milan, Italy within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.
Mission
The mission of the Food Product Developer is to support the development and expansion of the organization's service portfolio within the agrifood sector, with a specific focus on second-party audit services and supply chain assurance. #LI-MC1
Key Accountabilities
- Service Portfolio Development
Design and develop agrifood services with a focus on second-party audits and supply chain assurance, ensuring alignment with market needs (retail/GDO, supply chains).
- Market Analysis
Monitor industry trends (sustainability, food safety, traceability) and identify customer needs, supporting diversification and strategic positioning.
- Service Design
Define scalable service models (audits, schemes, protocols) and support business case development and pricing.
- Go-to-Market Execution
Support service launches (pilot, rollout), ensuring alignment with sales and operations and monitoring adoption.
- Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with key players (GDO, food companies, associations) and support commercial teams in developing opportunities.
- Partnership Development
Identify and support strategic partnerships to expand service offerings and market reach.
- Regulatory Expertise
Stay updated on standards and regulations, translating them into auditable service solutions.
- Competitive Intelligence
Monitor competitors and identify differentiation opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement
Collect feedback and support ongoing service improvement.
- Innovation & Digitalization
Support integration of digital tools (traceability, data analytics, digital audits) into service offerings.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering General
Master's Degree in Economics
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in food safety, auditing, or supply chain assurance, with exposure to second-party audits and operational delivery environments.
- Hands‐on experience in supply chain audit activities, including planning, coordination, or execution of audits against recognized standards (e.g., ISO 22000, BRC-IFS).
- Basic understanding of second‐party audit models and retailer‐driven requirements (GDO), with the ability to contribute to the development of structured service offerings.
- Good stakeholder management skills, with experience interacting with clients, auditors, and internal teams to support service delivery and project execution.
- Analytical mindset with familiarity in KPI monitoring, performance tracking, and identification of improvement actions.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance frameworks, with the ability to interpret requirements and support their translation into operational services.
- Experience in coordinating activities or supporting project management, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and deliverables are met.
- Ability to work cross‐functionally, collaborating with sales, operations, and technical teams to support service development and market alignment.
- Problem‐solving attitude and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic and fast‐paced environments.
- Interest in innovation and service development, particularly in the areas of supply chain assurance, sustainability, and second‐party audit services.
