Senior Category Sourcing Manager, AWS Infrastructure Services – Supply Chain Job ID: 3108878 | Amazon Data Services, Inc. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. The role collaborates across AWS to deliver safety, security, and the lowest possible cost for customers. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the single threaded relationship manager for strategic supply partners providing design, development, manufacturing and integration services for AWS servers. Matrix manage supplier performance in cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability and overall supply strategy. Negotiate and execute complex supplier agreements, statements of work and other contracts with cross‑functional leads. Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver RFPs, evaluate vendor responses, and align on business awards. Deliver AWS’s cost objectives through detailed understanding of cost drivers and bill‑of‑materials reviews. Develop and negotiate sourcing strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining sustainable supplier relationships. Inform and influence senior leadership about business status, risk and opportunities via written narratives. Manage vendor escalations and provide executive level updates as required. Prepare and present data‑driven business reviews with senior management focused on procurement/sourcing execution and supply continuity. Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps that align with AWS’s technical development and manufacturing initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience. 6+ years of related industry experience. 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent. 8+ years of high‑volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in global supply chain management and managing cross‑functional teams. Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies. Experience negotiating with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction. Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners. Experience processing category management, benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, reverse auction, and contracting.
