Job Summary The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for 5-axis milling machines. This role involves interpreting complex technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise machining of parts and components. The CNC Programmer collaborates closely with engineers and machinists to enhance manufacturing processes and ensure high-quality production. He will manage projects in the Machining department by analyzing feasibility, defining processing cycles, tool and fixture selection, and ensuring compliance with contractual constraints and company policies. He will draw up specific summary reports. Responsibilities Programming: Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM based on Heidenhain numerical control to create complex parts and components. Knowledge of Siemens and Fanuc numerical control. Measurements: Develop measurement programs for Zeiss CMM using Calypso. Blueprint Analysis: Analyze blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Tool Selection: Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job. Testing and Optimization: Test programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality. Process Improvement: Work with cross-functional teams to solve critical process issues and implement process improvements. Documentation: Maintain records and documentation for machine specifications and programming notes. Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations in the workplace. Basic Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or a related field is preferred. Experience: 2 years in a planning role; experience with 5-axis CNC machines and proficiency in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. Certifications: Certifications in CNC programming or operations can enhance job prospects. Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest software and training on new equipment.
