Product Owner - Middleware MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company OneVision program is a global initiative aimed at streamlining business processes, standardizing data flows, and centralizing system management across all MSC entities, as part of this program, the Transactional and Integration Platform project focuses on implementing a platform that connects our internal applications and external partners to streamline logistics operations. Within this program we are seeking a visionary and results-driven Product Owner based in Turin to lead the development, implementation, and lifecycle management of a mission-critical Integration Layer/Middleware platform that connects our internal applications and external partners to streamline logistics operations. Role Summary As Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining the roadmap of our new integration platform, which will serve as the backbone of our land and air transportation divisions’ IT landscape. This middleware layer will manage and govern data exchanges between internal systems and external clients, vendors, and partners, enabling real-time visibility and automation across the logistics chain. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architecture, infrastructure, security and operations, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the solution meets business needs and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Vision : contribute to the definition, communicate, and evolve the vision, roadmap, and priorities for the integration/middleware layer, aligned with business objectives across the land and air transport divisions. Backlog Management : Create and maintain a detailed product backlog, ensuring clarity and prioritization based on stakeholder input and value delivery. Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a keyinterface between business units, IT teams, and external partners to gather integration requirements, validate priorities and align expectations. Integration Scenarios : Oversee the implementation of key logistics use cases including transport bookings, order transmissions, event/status updates and master data synchronization. Internal & External Systems : Coordinate integration efforts across a diverse IT landscape and external systems of clients and vendors. Technical Collaboration : Work closely with solution architects and integration specialists to ensure scalability, performance, and security of the middleware platform. Lifecycle Management : Manage the complete lifecycle of the integration layer from MVP delivery to continuous optimization and maintenance according to the deployment strategy. Compliance & Governance : Liaise with MSC IT Infra&Ops teams to ensure all integrations adhere to internal data policies, security, regulatory requirements and industry standards Qualifications Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a logistics, supply chain, or transportation technology environment. Deep understanding of integration technologies and concepts (e.g., APIs, message brokers, ESB, EDI). Familiarity with logistics operations and processes, particularly within land and air transport. Experience managing products that interface with both internal enterprise systems and external stakeholders. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. · Professional-level fluency in both written and spoken English. Technical background (degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related field) is a strong advantage. Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive and self-motivated with keen attention to detail.
