Purpose of the job: The Project Contract Manager (PrCM) is a key member of the project team, working closely with the Project Manager and core project team. He/she provides guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies aligned with Alstom’s business objectives, including extensions of time (EoTs), variation orders, and contract amendments. He/she ensures proper record keeping and file preparation to support robust claim files. Key accountabilities: Ensure application of the Contract, Claims and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM) and Alstom governance. Prepare and communicate Contract Summaries, ensuring they are regularly updated. Analyze contracts to develop and implement Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plans. Ensure timely elaboration, communication, and updating of the Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) by project team members. Monitor project progress toward contractual obligations and milestones. Issue contractual notices to customers/partners promptly. Establish and implement project-specific commercial procedures for correspondence, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders, and claims files. Maintain reliable filing systems for correspondence with customers/partners. Manage correspondence analysis with the Project Manager. Develop project-specific processes for contract/claim management. Adopt a pragmatic commercial approach based on contractual analysis to protect Alstom’s interests. Monitor and manage claims/counterclaims, including documentation and negotiation support. Track customer/partner requests for variations, change orders, and extensions, and follow up to closure. Provide advice on issues, risks, and contractual/claims activities aligned with project and business objectives. Report contract management and claims activities to relevant stakeholders, including legal and contract teams. Train key stakeholders in contract/claim management. Anticipate risks and propose counter-strategies and solutions. Collaborate with project leaders to identify and mitigate risks and claim opportunities. Provide reliable contractual and commercial analysis upon management request. Travel up to 20-30% as required.
