- Perform software checkout and commissioning for converting roll machines.
- Maintain and service customer production equipment and systems according to Valmet service procedures and safety processes.
- Set up machinery and provide prompt assistance to solve technical issues during the testing phase, and related to processes, machinery or tools at customer sites or remotely.
- Carry out process checks and quality control to improve product quality and propose improvement solutions to the customer.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on customer installations to ensure and optimise equipment performance.
- Proactively evaluate and suggest spare parts or improvements to the customer for equipment updates.
- Carry out training at the customer’s site or in-house.
- Collaborate with the technical department for programming software and improving technical solutions.
- Ensure the achievement of predefined objectives, guaranteeing customer satisfaction within the agreed timeline.
Qualifications

- Technical school diploma or degree in Electronic, Software, Automation, Informatics or similar fields.
- 2–3 years of experience as a Software Technician in the manufacturing industry; experience in the converting industry is a plus.
- Experience with Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming and safety.
- Experience with Siemens S7 and TIA Portal (especially CPU Siemens 1500‑TF); Rockwell RSLogix 5000; Siemens WinCC; SIMATIC WinCC Unified (JavaScript).
- Proficiency with MS Office 365, SAP and 2D/3D CAD.
- Structured approach to complete tasks according to targets and schedule.
- Systematic approach to execute given tasks; strong skills in complex troubleshooting.
- Service orientation.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and proactive approach to work.
- Respect for quality standards and safety procedures.
- Strong work ethic.
- Availability and willingness to travel.
- Fluent in English and Italian.
