Main Purpose of the Job: Within the Group R&D Packaging Team we are looking for a new resource to support packaging sustainability vision of the company and ensure efforts, including new developments, comply with all developing regulations globally incl. retailers requirements. Main Responsibilities: - Offer packaging sustainability expertise and contribute to identify and prioritize areas for packaging sustainability efforts in line with packaging sustainability strategy; - Recommend projects for proactively addressing relevant sustainability compliance issues; - Coordinate and/or execute specific sustainability and compliance projects/activities liaising with Packaging Development team of manufacturing plants; - Partnering with regulatory affairs organization providing technical support when assessing Green Claims and creating framework for packaging developers; - Act as packaging expert focal point for local organizations of key importing countries to support packaging sustainability roadmap and compliance; - Monitor external technical requirements and guideline developments by key regions/countries/packaging materials categories; - Support development of internal guidelines to streamline the packaging sustainability and compliance process; - Support to foster a culture of sustainability through organizational communications and education; - Participate to associations and forums. Requirements & Skills: - Graduate (Bachelor/Master) in scientific fields, ideally in Chemistry or Material Sciences with specialization in Packaging Materials and Technologies; - At least 5 years of experience in Packaging Development, 3 years in Food Industry handling packaging sustainability portfolio is a plus; - Good knowledge of life cycle and circularity aspects of packaging categories such as plastics and paper based materials and major legal and voluntary frameworks (Europe and UK); - Excellent communication and negotiation skills with multiple stakeholders; - Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a cultural diverse team environment; - Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to lead multiple projects and define priorities; - Dynamic and flexible, agile when dealing with ambiguity; - Availability to travel upon demand; - Fluent in spoken and written English, proficiency in French or German is a plus. The position will be located in Lainate (MI) or in any major European PVM site.
