About the Client:
Our client is a global leader in advanced wireless and optical communication technologies. Their Milan-based R&D center focuses on pioneering research in millimeter-wave (mm Wave) and optical communication systems, including E/W/D-band RFICs, free-space optical (FSO) systems, active phased arrays, and optical front-end ICs like TIAs and drivers.
The team works on cutting-edge semiconductor designs, contributing to both internal innovation and industry standards, aiming to power the next generation of high-speed data and communication systems, including 6 G, optical transceivers, and phased-array architectures.
Job Summary
The client is seeking a skilled Analog RFIC Design Engineer to join their international R&D team in Milan. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing analog and RF integrated circuits for optical and high-frequency communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and optimize high-performance analog and RFIC blocks (e.g., TIAs, drivers, amplifiers).
* Analyze system requirements and define circuit-level specifications in collaboration with system engineers.
* Conduct schematic design, simulation, and layout support through to physical implementation.
* Evaluate trade-offs between performance, area, and power for different circuit solutions.
* Support lab validation and silicon debugging of prototypes.
* Share design practices and technical insights with the global team.
Required Qualifications
* Master's degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering or related; Ph D preferred.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in analog/RFIC circuit design, preferably in optical or mm Wave systems.
* Proven expertise with Cadence tools and modern CMOS/Si Ge Bi CMOS technologies.
* Solid knowledge of high-frequency analog design techniques (low-noise, high-speed, lowpower).
* Tape-out and production experience in complex IC projects.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural, multi-disciplinary teams.
* Fluent in English; willing to travel internationally as needed.
