The role: The Credit Underwriting Analyst will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, analysing financial statements, verifying credit bureau information, and making recommendations for medium-term leasing and loan products, as well as short-term factoring of receivables for direct sales. This role ensures compliance with company policies and risk management standards. Key Responsibilities: Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough credit assessments for retail lending applications, including medium-term leasing and loans or short-term factoring receivable for direct sales Analyse financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to determine the creditworthiness of applicants. Ensuring that credit applications are processed within agreed company credit policies and the assigned delegation of authority, while respecting a timeframe that is acceptable to the business Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with lending and factoring transactions. Develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend appropriate credit limits and terms. Monitor and review existing accounts to ensure ongoing creditworthiness and compliance. ensure that all non-standard agreements and clauses are reviewed and discussed with Legal for compliance and validity Decision Making: Prepare detailed credit reports and present findings to the proper stakeholders foreseen by internal Delegation of Authorities Take informed decision for approval, denial, or approval with condition Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure seamless processing and servicing of approved transactions. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all credit underwriting activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credit assessments, decisions, and related documentation. Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures. Customer Interaction: Communicate with applicants to gather necessary information and clarify any discrepancies. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to credit applications. Requirements: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Proficiency in financial modelling and credit analysis tools.
