Test Engineer – Healthcare (Surgical)Barco Healthcare is looking for a hands‐on Test Engineer to join our R&D team and support the development and industrialisation of next‐generation surgical products. In this role, you will work in an international, multidisciplinary R&D environment, playing a key part in ensuring product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the product development lifecycle.Your RoleAs a Test Engineer, you will support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by planning, executing, and coordinating verification and validation activities. You will work closely with engineering, industrialisation, quality, and external partners to ensure our products meet international medical device standards and Barco's high‐quality expectations.Key Responsibilities Analyse design inputs, project specifications, and regulatory requirementsDefine and execute test plans in collaboration with NPI project managersPerform verification and validation testing across different development stagesSupport and execute:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experienceHands‐on experience in a laboratory or test environmentExposure to testing, validation, or certification activitiesAbility to work independently, organise work, and take initiativeStrong communication skills and a structured, analytical mindsetFluent in Italian and English
Experience in the medical device / healthcare industryFamiliarity with EMC, environmental, and electrical safety testingKnowledge of medical device standards (e.g. IEC 60601 series)Background in testing laboratories, notified bodies, or other regulated industries
