Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Developer to join our Engineering team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, verification, and validation of electronic hardware solutions for railway safety-critical systems, contributing to high-performance, reliable, and compliant products throughout the full product lifecycle.
Main activities Design and develop analog and digital electronic boards for embedded railway systems
Design and implement the FW/SW necessary for HW component tests – or specify the software to be developed by the FW/SW designer
Define hardware architecture and select electronic components
Create and review schematics, BOMs, and hardware technical documentation
Support PCB layout activities in collaboration with layout engineers
Execute and support hardware verification and validation activities (functional, environmental, EMC tests)
Contribute to safety and reliability analyses in compliance with railway standards
Support industrialization, production issues, and field troubleshooting
Collaborate with Firmware, System Engineering, RAMS, V&V;, Quality, and Industrial teams
Educational Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering
Solid knowledge of analog and digital electronics
Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers
Knowledge of communication buses (e.g. CAN, SPI, I2C, MVB, Ethernet)
Knowledge of international regulations (EN*****; EN*****, EN*****, MIL-HDBK 217F, IEC***** and IEC*****)
Knowledge of VHDL and C code
Experience in PLD/FPGA (Altera-Lattice) programming
Familiarity with hardware design tools (e.g. Altium, OrCAD or equivalent)
Basic knowledge of railway or safety-critical standards (e.g. EN *********************) is a plus
Ability to produce clear and structured technical documentation
Good oral communication skills
Good written and spoken English communication skills
Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international teams
Ability to work with remote collaborators
