An insight to the role Within the R&, D Department in Datamars' HQ' the Product Systems Engineer - Connected Products is responsible for the end to end technical coherence of connected products as complete systems' spanning mechanics' hardware' firmware' and edge algorithms. The role defines and maintains system architecture' interfaces' and technical trade offs' ensuring consistent system behaviour from early concept and requirements through development' industrialization' and life cycle support. The Product Systems Engineer provides cross functional technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams and locations' translating product intent into system level technical plans' integration constraints' and verification criteria. While specialist teams own most component level development' the Product Systems Engineer is expected to remain hands on and to contribute directly to critical technical work when needed-particularly on system integration' troubleshooting' validation readiness' and risk reduction-so that delivery remains practical' timely' and robust. The role carries accountability for system level quality and integration readiness' including coordination of technical compliance with manufacturing and certification requirements' and ownership of system-level issue triage and technical decision-making after release' ensuring changes and fixes are assessed for end to end system impact. Key accountabilities 1. System delivery ownership Accountable for system-level technical delivery across the product lifecycle' ensuring that architecture' integration' and technical risks are actively managed and that functional teams are aligned to a coherent system plan. Supports delivery through technical leadership' prioritization of system risks' and hands-on contribution where needed' without being the primary owner of project execution or resource management. 2. Feasibility studies The role includes preliminary feasibility assessments providing information to the business' allowing an informed decision on challenges and effectiveness of a project based on high level information supporting prioritizations across multiple projects. 3.Systems Design and Architecture Lead the design' integration' and testing of complex systems' ensuring they meet all technical and regulatory requirements. Develop system architectures' validate design solutions' and ensure scalability' reliability' and performance. 4.Technical leadership and influence Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams through mentoring' design reviews' and system-level guidance. Influence technical direction' integration decisions' and engineering best practices without direct line management responsibility. Key responsabilities - Design with involved internal and external stakeholders architectures fit for purpose' always considering scalability and cross project reusability - Provide technical leadership and mentoring across multidisciplinary engineering teams' fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture. - Communicate project updates' challenges' and resolutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Handle risk and propose risk mitigations. - Ensure all projects meet safety' regulatory' and quality standards Key success factors - Experience and Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering' Electrical Engineering' Computer Science' or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of proven experience in technical development' including experience leading or coordinating technical activities across multidisciplinary teams - Proficiency in systems architecture' integration' and validation.
