What We’re Looking For
* We are currently recruiting for an Engineering System Piping Specialist or Senior Specialist to join our team, part of the Global Technical Support Office in Lloyd's Register's marine division.
* In Trieste, the Technical Support Office is recognized as a Centre of Expertise for passenger ships and yachts.

The Role
* To perform approvals of ship arrangements and issue certifications in compliance with relevant statutory instruments and Lloyd’s Register Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Ships.
* To support the quality and growth of Lloyd’s Register’s marine business globally by providing technical advice and support to clients.
* To discuss and present design appraisal conclusions with external clients and suggest or influence alternative solutions where appropriate.
What You Bring
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or an equivalent degree from a recognized tertiary organization (minimum two-year program).
* Knowledge of the marine environment with up to about 10 years’ experience.
* Knowledge of engineering systems (e.g., piping, machinery) and the ability to handle complex technical issues.
* Ability to quickly become proficient in LR management tools such as SAP Business ByDesign and Digital Work Bench.
* Familiarity with basic risk assessment techniques and project management.
* Good customer relationship skills in a project environment and stakeholder management.
* Proficiency in English and Italian languages.
Preferred But Not Required
Experience in design, plan appraisal, design support, or site surveys of engineering systems such as:
* Machinery (power propulsion, generation, winches, steering, etc.)
* Piping systems
* Environmental systems (emissions abatement, ballast water, MARPOL regulations)
* Energy storage (pressure containment systems)
* Cryogenic systems (e.g., LNG/gas propulsion), preferably for passenger ships, RORO ferries, and yachts.
