VITEC have a fantastic opportunity to join our R & D team in Chatillon – FRANCE as a Product Owner for H/F Video Codec Products. The role is hybrid so it’s ideal to live close enough to travel to our office on a regular basis. The person successful will act as the voice of the customer and stakeholders for the R & D team.
About the role :
As part of the R&D team, reporting to the local Head of R&D, the Product Owner manages the product backlog for Video Codec products development in R&D. This includes creating, maintaining and tracking all tasks associated with new features, changes to existing features, handling defects and bugs to be fixed.
The Product Owner acts as the voice of the customer and stakeholders for the R&D team. As such he is an essential communication asset between the Product Manager (and sometimes the customer) and the R&D team.
The Product Owner focuses on internal inbound needs and is the key to translating the Product Management roadmap to a successful deliverable in terms of feature set and time to market.
What you will do :
* Product Requirements: Translate stakeholder needs and product strategy from Product Management into actionable user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria for the R&D team via the R&D tool (Jira)
* Prioritize Development Work: Create and maintain the feature backlog, prioritize items based on the product roadmap to ensure the product delivers the highest possible business value.
* Product backlog management: Ensure work in progress meets product requirements through acceptance and UX criteria, guiding changes as needed before and after completion.
* Work Closely with Development Team: Guide the development team on how to build features and interactions using domain knowledge and setting development priorities in accordance with the product roadmap and R&D process and technologies.
* Ensure Development Process Compliance and Transparent reporting: Collaborate with the development team leads and Program Manager to ensure the process is followed, and deadlines are met. Report any deviation compared to initial plans ensure all stakeholders are informed.
About you :
You hold a degree from « école d’ingénieur » or equivalent bac+5 (Mécatronique, Electronique, Informatique).
You have :
· Experience as PO and/or a strong understanding how users interact with the products.
· Experience in product development, managing user requirements and stakeholders expectations.
· Knowledge of Agile, Scrum or similar product development approaches, together with technological product development.
· Knowledge of embedded developments and hardware/software integration.
· Knowledge in the domain of video and/or digital audio processing or streaming is preferred.
