PDirects, plans, organizes, and evaluates tertiary hospital infection prevention and control related activities. /ppbJob Responsibility /b /pulliLeads an Infection Prevention group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area. /liliDevelops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility. /liliDevelops, implements, and communicates hospital’s infection prevention goals, objectives, policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organization standards; oversees financial management including department budget, salary, capital, and revenue projections. /liliPlans, implements, and reviews hospital infection surveillance and risk assessment activities in accordance with internal and external guidelines; ensures identification and resolution of infection risks to patients, staff and community. /liliDirects investigations on epidemiologically important infections, clusters, and exposures to identify sources, facilitate interventions and implement risk reduction strategies. /liliReports on hospital’s operational performance, justifications and corrective actions to hospital and system leadership and appropriate local and state agencies / officials. /liliOversees hospital infection prevention training programs that address standards of care, infection risks, evidence-based practices, sterilization, high / low level disinfection, hand hygiene, instrument and equipment storage, etc. Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; oversees selection, development, management, and evaluation of indirect reports. /liliEnsures adequate scheduling and assigns responsibilities to ensure an equitable distribution of work; oversees compliance with government and agency regulations; participates in external regulatory reviews to maintain accreditation(s). /liliBuilds and maintains productive inter / intra departmental relationships to optimize patient care and maintain / increase compliance with infection prevention and control practices. /liliPartners with Human Resources to increase employee vaccination rates and improve healthcare provider exposure intervention processes; oversees the maintenance and integrity of conventional and computer-aided records and information. /liliPerforms related duties as required.
