ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Controller plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and internal controls. They will also ensure accurate financial reporting to management and the board of directors, maintaining compliance with government regulations and managing financial risks.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
* Preparing month-end reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
* Providing accurate financial reports to management
* Ensuring compliance with government regulations
* Managing all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
* Coordinating and directing budget preparation and financial forecasts, reporting variances
* Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
* Managing cash flow
* Coordinating regulatory reporting preparation
* Researching technical accounting issues to ensure compliance
* Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
* Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reporting
* Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
* Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller
* At least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience
* Advanced degree in accounting
* CPA or CMA preferred
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
* Experience with creating financial statements
* Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
* Excellent accounting software skills and administration
* Prior manufacturing experience is a strong plus
