Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Junior Software Developer role located in Bologna.
The Junior Software Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of software tools in the customs domain that sustain the company’s operational and consulting activities. The role focuses on contributing to new feature development, maintaining and improving existing systems, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of internal and client-facing applications.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the development and enhancement of software tools used in customs and foreign trade processes
* Maintaining and improving the existing codebase to ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness
* Managing and maintaining data crawlers used for regulatory monitoring and data acquisition
* Supporting data lifecycle management, including data collection, storage, processing, and archival
* Contributing to the scalability and robustness of the product architecture
* Performing debugging, testing, and code reviews
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams (consultants, compliance experts, and IT professionals) to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
* Strong foundation in computer science concepts, including algorithms and data structures
* Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and software development processes
* Experience with programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
* Knowledge of modern software development toolkits and version control systems
* Familiarity with database management, data handling, and RESTful API integration
* Understanding of software scalability principles and data lifecycle management concepts
* Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively
