We are at the forefront of ensuring Amazon's selection remains safe and compliant with global regulations while enabling seamless commerce worldwide; your work will directly impact how products are handled in distribution centers, how selection is managed across marketplaces, and how we maintain customer trust through intelligent classification.This is a high-visibility role where you'll influence technical direction and partner with senior leadership to shape the future of Amazon's catalog management.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive Strategic Vision: Partner with Project Sponsors and senior leadership to define and execute the technical roadmap for complex, multi-year initiatives across the Classification & Policy PlatformLead Cross-Functional Programs: Deliver complex programs spanning multiple engineering teams, applied science groups, and business stakeholders across global organizationsInfluence Technical Direction: Guide software development teams on architecture, design, and priorities while setting best practices for program execution across the organizationExecutive Communication: Provide clear, concise communication to VP/SVP-level stakeholders on program status, risks, and strategic recommendationsManage Complex Trade-offs: Lead risk assessment, escalations, and strategic trade-offs between business needs, technical constraints, and resource limitationsScale Best Practices: Create frameworks and processes that can be adopted across multiple teams to improve program delivery and operational excellenceBasic Qualifications10+ years of technical product or program management experience5+ years of software development experienceExperience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedulesExperience working with engineering & applied science teams in Agile environmentsStrong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence partners to achieve business objectivesPreferred Qualifications12+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experienceExperience leading programs that span multiple organizations and have driven measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, or customer experienceDemonstrated success building and scaling technical programs from inception to deliveryDemonstrated success working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and geographical locationsBackground in machine learning, AI/ML systems, or large-scale data processing platformsExperience in e-commerce, catalog management, or compliance/policy systemsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
