Job Description Summary
As EHS Site Leader you will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long‑term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. In this position you will develop and update local EHS programs to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations and with GE and Business. Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of GE EHS Programs and continuous improvement in EHS performance at Borgaretto & Cameri sites to achieve EHS excellence.
- Lead emergency preparedness and fire protection, safety risk assessments, safe working procedures, hazardous waste management, ergonomics, and contractor safety.
- Ensure root cause analysis is completed for all injuries and significant events.
- Support complex root‑cause investigations.
- Coordinate and provide training for GE employees.
- Perform EHS audits.
- Drive improvement and track goal achievement through collection, analysis and communication of EHS goals and measurements (programs evaluation, workplace audits, findings closure, training completion, injuries and illnesses).
- Lead EHS permitting processes and liaise with local regulatory authorities to ensure operations are fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Give input to the leadership team on various compliance requirements and drive the compliance assurance program.
Qualification / Requirements
- Master’s degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Significant experience in EHS management, including manufacturing or service facility experience.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to interact with senior leadership, employees, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently using timelines, budgets, and tracking systems.
- Ability to break down complex or large problems into smaller steps and develop solutions using objective criteria.
- Ability to analyze cost/benefit and prioritize the most important liabilities and compliance issues, focusing activities on them.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
