WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
* Lead and manage a team of Interior Designers, inspiring and challenging them to enhance the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation and home furnishing solutions across room settings, homes, vignettes, and sales support areas.
* Gather and translate insights from home visit interviews into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic, and commercial home furnishing solutions that exceed customer expectations and reflect the IKEA way of home furnishing.
* Oversee the creation of store range presentations that showcase a variety of styles, living situations, and price levels, creating engaging visual impressions.
* Ensure interior designers execute high-quality, simple, cost-effective, and efficient home furnishing solutions using global tools and best practices.
* Maintain deep knowledge of home furnishing, retailing, and trends to support the Communication Manager in facilitating workshops that generate creative directions inspiring visitors with strong visual impressions.
* Support the development of the department action plan with interior design initiatives aimed at growing the business and supporting long-term profitability, collaborating with the communication team and other functions.
* Recruit and develop the skills of Interior Designers, ensuring succession planning by continuously seeking potential candidates.
* Act swiftly to exploit commercial opportunities and ensure the team understands the impact of communication actions on financial results.
* Maintain visitor focus, minimize disruptions, and communicate changes effectively on the shop floor.
* Contribute actively to the national Interior Design Managers network, sharing directions and tools with store interior design teams.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
* Deep knowledge of presenting furniture ranges, including living situations, style groups, store communication, and lighting.
* Strong understanding of the local market and insights from market research.
* Knowledge of interior design trends influencing home furnishing, the IKEA range presentation methods, IKEA concepts, brand objectives, and global tools.
* Experience in leading creative processes and building interior design competence.
* Ability to combine commercial, aesthetic, and practical skills to foster a trustful and creative environment.
* Capacity to balance big-picture assessment with attention to detail.
* Good analytical and strategic skills to guide store business over various timeframes.
* Extensive experience as an interior designer and relevant interior design education.
* Proven success in leading creative teams and fostering trustful environments.
* A passion for home furnishing and design, with experience in fast retail environments.
* Customer-focused mindset and strong communication skills.
* Ability to set, implement, and follow up on action plans, expectations, and goals.
* Organizational skills to prioritize work efficiently and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
* Fluency in Italian and English.
