We’re on the lookout for aMain Pump Station -Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Mills Effluent irrigation main pump station.
As an Main Pump Station -Operator you will be responsible for:
* Ensure the efficient operating of the Main pump station through daily maintenance and operational tasks.
* Communication with Irrigation Supervisor, Superintendent Farm operations and maintenance teams.
* Record dam levels (Hourly) on log sheet and give feedback to Effluent plant operators.
* Controls Gypsum addition to maintain prescribed S.A.R.
* Report any problem area and defective equipment to irrigation Supervisor/Superintendent
* Ensure that good housekeeping at all times.
* Ensure mill safety standards are maintained.
* Comply with the 8 Life Saving Rules.
* Carry out BBS observations and other safety initiatives.
Working Conditions:
* 12 hr shift rotation
* Exposed to noise
* Exposed dust- Gypsum
* Exposed to open water bodies
* Exposed to mill effluent
What are we looking for?
* Matric (Grade 12).
* Minimum of 6 months relevant experience.
* Speak and write clearly in English.
* Experience in a Skid steer operation will be advantageous.
* 1st Aid – Level 1, Gas Tester Certificate, BBS, Isolation procedure & competent effluent operator will be advantageous.
