The A ero S ervices group in PPG provides strategic direction, market knowledge, and product expertise to ASC network teams to support aerospace sales, profit, and growth objective s regarding our chemical management services (CMS) and chemical packaging services (CPS) segments. On top of these, the CMS operations, project, and supply chain function s are overseeing new site implementations as well as managing the day-to-day program requirements. Job location: Torino Key reponsibilities : The primary responsibilities of the Chemical Inventory and Handling Technician includes: Responsible for the safe handling, storage, and transportation of chemical materials within the facility, according to established procedures Receive incoming shipments of chemical materials, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage or discrepancies. Document and report any issues with received materials to the appropriate personnel for resolution. Ensure pro p er labeling and documentation of all chemical materials in accordance with regulatory requirements. Monitor stock levels of chemical materials and supplies, ensuring that inventory is maintained at optimal levels to support production needs. Utilize inventory management software to track material usage, reorder points, and stock rotation. Organize and maintain chemical storage areas to ensure safe and efficient access to materials, following proper storage protocols including segregation of incompatible materials and adherence to labeling requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements in material handling and inventory management to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for optimizing workflows and inventory practices. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material needs and safety concerns. Managing relationships with customers, ensuring adherence to contract obligations i.e. cost savings. Functional/Technical Skills Proficiency in material handling and inventory management. Operation of pallet jacks and other material handling equipment. Understanding of chemical safety data sheets (SDS) and the ability to interpret safety information related to chemical handling. Experience with barcode scanning systems or RFID technology for inventory tracking is a plus. Problem solving skills - Ability to assess situations quickly and develop effective solutions to meet customer needs. Strong self-motivation, able to work autonomously. Knowledge of chemical properties, hazards, and compatibility.
